Cookie and Analytics Policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
This Policy describes cookies and comparable browser-storage technologies used by Earny and supplements the Privacy Policy.
1. Authentication cookies
Authentication cookies support Google sign-in, protect the authentication exchange and maintain your session for up to seven days. Relevant cookies are cleared on sign-out or expire according to their authentication purpose. Blocking them may prevent account functions. Public browsing remains available without an account. Earny does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
2. Local and session storage
- Display preferences: local storage retains selected appearance preferences until changed or cleared.
- Installation preferences: local storage records installation and dismissal choices. Automatic reminders are deferred for seven days after the first dismissal and thirty days after the second; after the third they cease while the preference remains stored. A session-only page counter prevents an immediate first-page reminder.
- Temporary navigation state: session storage may retain a listing selected for saving before sign-in and limited search/filter event state. This normally ends when the tab session closes and does not transmit search text in usage events.
3. Service worker and offline assets
Where supported, Earny registers a service worker for visitors whether or not the application is installed. Cache storage holds a generic offline page, application icons and bounded public static assets such as versioned styles, scripts and fonts. It does not cache account pages, personalized HTML, catalogue records, authentication responses or administrative data. Static assets are versioned and replaced or removed under the service worker's cache policy. Clearing site data removes stored browser copies.
4. Analytics and error monitoring
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures public-page usage and performance without analytics cookies; Earny's integration excludes account, authentication and administrative routes. Separate limited usage events omit account identifiers and search text. Where configured, Sentry receives sanitized technical errors without session replay. Details appear in the Privacy Policy.
5. Advertising and external services
No live third-party advertisements are currently displayed. Introducing optional advertising or tracking requires updated disclosure and any prior consent required by applicable law. Platforms reached through outbound links may use their own cookies under their own policies.
6. Browser controls
Browser controls permit inspection, blocking and deletion of cookies, local storage, session storage and cached data. These actions may reset preferences or disable sign-in and offline functions. Enquiries may be submitted through Contact and corrections.
